Noir de Rome is earth ground lignite from Verona in Italy. This pigment has been used since the XV century.

L'ombre de Chypre C (= umber C of Cyprus) is an umber that comes from Cyprus. The umber earth probably owes its name to the latin "umbra" (shadow) which was once used to cast down the colors. Cyprus is the largest producer of earths in the Mediterranean basin. Traces of this earth can be found everywhere. They are taken in the form of clay which makes them accessible and cheap pigments.
